Membership Form – Windham Garden Club

The Club meets the 3rd Thursday of the month from September through May, except for December.

Members and guests gather at 7:00 p.m. at the Windham Town Hall, with business meeting followed by the program beginning at 7:30 p.m. In June the club’s Summer Solstice Awards Banquet is held at the Searles School and Chapel at 6:30pm.

Hospitality

Everyone participates in Hospitality by providing refreshments at one meeting and participates in activities associated with the Annual Plant Sale in May. In addition, please select at least one additional Standing Committee of interest.

Everyone participates in Hospitality by providing refreshments at one meeting and participates in activities associated with the Annual Plant Sale in May. In addition, please select at least one additional Standing Committee of interest.

Committee

Civic Improvement – develop and implement ideas for beautification projects throughout Windham, maintaining established plantings at various public locations with general clean-ups once each in spring and fall.
Communications – keeps the club in the public eye as a way of attracting new members and gaining the respect of the town; email news releases about meetings to local newspapers, publicize special events or activities; maintain website and Facebook page.
Conservation – work to promote conservation of our natural environment through active and educational projects.
Horticulture – organize and present garden related workshops and seminars, provide gardening advice to community upon request.
Scholarships and Grants – administer the Nancy Surette Memorial Scholarships and Arthur Baker Community Investment Grants.
Way and Means – oversee raising funds for club projects (e.g., plant sale, raffles, garden tour, garden club merchandise, etc.).
Special Committee: Club History /Scrapbooking – design and create annual scrapbook, documenting the Club’s activities through photographs, newspaper stories and other memorabilia. Currently inactive.
Special Committee: Junior Garden Club – Members are from Grades 1-12. Children are assisted and supervised by WGC members. Currently inactive, looking to find members to rejuvenate activity
